Alex Pettyfer

The English actor is best known for portraying the role of Alex Rider in the film "Stormbreaker", based on the very popular novel by Anthony Horowitz. The son of an actor and former fashion model, Pettyfer himself started out as a child model at the age of seven, modeling for labels such as GAP, and doing adverts for yogurt brands.
Interestingly enough, he began modeling after meeting icon Ralph Lauren in a New York city toy store. His acting debut came in 2005, in the British television production of "Tom Brown's Schooldays", playing the lead character Tom Brown and receiving rave reviews. It was in June of the same year, that he chose to star in "Strombreaker", edging out 500 others for the role, and passing on the chance to star in another prominent blockbuster, the fantasy film "Eragon". The film was a modest success, though Pettyfer received mixed reviews for his role as Alex Rider. He has stated that he will not return for any future films in the franchise because he is already too old. In his personal life, Pettyfer currently is currently enrolled in Drama College, and includes skiing, dancing and hockey among his hobbies. He describes himself as "athletic but also very artsy".
