Cedric the Entertainer The much-loved and well-respected American actor and comedian made his first TV appearance on "It's Showtime at the Apollo". Soon after, he appeared on HBO's Def Comedy Jam and BET's ComicView, a show he himself would later host for the 1993-94 season. HIs comedic talents were quite obvious very early on, and in 1994, he won the Richard Pryor Comic of the Year Award from BET.
