Christian Bale The extraordinarily talented Welsh-Born English actor is notorious for his ability to assume and metamorphose completely into any character or role he takes on; so much so, that he is often claimed to be the best "method actor" since Robert De Niro. Christian Bale started out his career early on as a child actor, appearing as the main protagonist in Steven Spielberg's "Empire of the Sun".While the movie opened to mixed reviews, praise for Bale's performance was ubiquitous, and such praise would follow the young actor long into his adult career with notable performances in: "American Psycho", "The Machinist", "Velvet Goldmine" , "Equilibrium", and "Harsh Times". His roles in the first two aforementioned movies especially, gained Bale acclaim for his ability to physically shape-shift in-between roles, by drastically losing, or increasing his weight, to better suit the character. It was with "Batman Begins" however, that Bale truly hit the big time, delivering what many consider to be the best Batman performance by any actor yet to tackle the role, as well as the best Batman movie yet. Off-screen, he is known to be a determined charity activist and is married to Sandra "Sibi" Blazic. He is especially noted for his fan-dom cult following on the internet and was featured on Entertainment Weekly's "Top 8 Most Powerful Cult Figures of the Past Decade".Bale can next be seen in the bat-sequel "The Dark Knight" and "3:10 to Yuma" with Russel Crowe.
