Dominic Monaghan Dominic Monaghan rose to international prominence playing the hobbit Merry in Peter Jackson's adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings". Most recently, he has become well-known for his role as Charlie Pace on the mega-hit television show "Lost". He left the show after its third season however, stating he was ready for a change and that he was disappointed by his character's diminishing role in the second and third seasons.
