Ethan Phillips

Though primarily best known as a Trekkie, playing Neelix on "Star Trek: Voyager" and a host of other memorable characters in the Star Trek universe; and also for playing the role of Pete Downey on the 80s series "Benson", Phillips has additionally guest-starred in over a dozen other shows in his long career, including: "The Twilight Zone", "Boston Legal", "JAG", "Num3rs", "Touched by an Angel", "Las Vegas", and "NYPD Blue".
He has also appeared in several acclaimed feature films, including the 80s hits: "Glory", "Burglar", and "Lean on Me", and more recent ones such as, "The Island" and "Bad Santa". As a writer, he has authored the successful "Star Trek Cook-book". In theater, he won great acclaimed for his short play, "Penguin Blues" which has spawned over 150 reproductions in North America. He's also acted in several well-known classic plays, including "Hamlet" and "You Can't Take It With You". In addition to all that, he's also had a very active voice-over career, being featured in several Star Wars games and animated films such as "Rugrats Go Wild" and "The Wild Thornberry's Movie". Phillips was born in Garden City, Long Island, New York as the only boy of six children. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in English Literature and received a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Cornell University. From there, he jump-started his career on broad-way and later on transitioned to television.
