Holly Valance The Australian starlet exploded into the lime light in 2002 with the debut hit single "Kiss Kiss". The song is actually a cover of American singer Stella Soleil's "Kiss Kiss", but became a huge hit nonetheless, in part, thanks to an infamous music video in which the sexy Valance appeared to be dancing naked (a clever mix of lighting and effects). The album, "Footprints", would go on to be a more-than-modest success and establish Valance as a popular starlet. Her other songs "Down Boy" and "Naughty Girl" would also follow in this vein, though not quite. However, after a poor second album featuring songs such as "State of Mind", and problems with the studio, Valance eventually quit the music business citing poor record sales and music not being "fun anymore". During this time, she was still quite popular with endorsements. She decided at this point to go back to acting. She had previously starred in the Australian soap "Neighbors" for three years prior to launching a music career, but now she chose to pursue that in the United States. The result was a series of guest-starring roles in "CSI: NY", "Entourage", and most prominently "Prison Break". She also starred in the video game adaptation, "DOA: Dead or Alive" and appeared alongside Paris Hilton in "National Lampoon's Pledge This". In 2008, she is expected to appear alongside Liam Neeson and Famke Janssen in "Taken". Back to Holly Valances Index |
