Jeri Ryan Ryan made her acting debut in the long-since canceled sitcom, "Who's the Boss?" and followed that with guest-starring roles in such TV shows as "Melrose Place", "Matlock", and "The Sentinel". Her minor big break came when she won a regular role as extraterrestrial investigator Juliet Stuart on the TV show "Dark Skies".The show was canceled after one season, but is worthy of mention as it drew the attention of the science-fiction community and set her up for her true big break. Ryan is perhaps best known for her role as ex-Borg Seven of Nine on "Star Trek: Voyager". The role garnered her much wide-spread recognition and rave reviews, and made her into a sci-fi sex symbol- (her tight fitting uniform had something to do with it). Her addition to the cast of the show coincided and perhaps resulted in higher ratings and positive critical reviews of "Voyager". Following her run on the show, she next starred in David E. Kelly's critically acclaimed but now-canceled series "Boston Public". She had a recurring role as Charlotte Morgan on "The O.C." in the fall of 2005 and guest-starred on Kelley's "Boston Legal" in 2006. She also had roles in the films: "The Last Man", "Men cry Bullets", and "Down with Love". She currently stars as Jessica Devlin on "Shark" opposite James Woods. Ryan had previously been married to investment banker and political candidate Jack Ryan, with whom she has a son, Alex; but the couple long since divorced in 1999. The issue of their divorce case and custody files has been a source of much controversy. When not acting, she occasionally moonlights as a Gourmet Chef and has opened her own French restaurant "Ortolan" in Los Angeles, in partnership with her husband, chef Christophe Émé.
