Jerry Springer While Springer's name is mostly synonymous with the "The Jerry Springer Show", we are to be often reminded that prior to the show, he had a quite industrious career as a statesman, which included being a political campaign aide to Robert F. Kennedy, being elected to the Cincinnati city council in 1971 and 1975, serving as mayor of that council in 1979, and also campaigned to run for Governor of Ohio in 1982, but ultimately lost.
