Kari Wuhrer

As a teenager, the American actress and singer used to sing in nightclubs, sneaking out of her family home to perform. Her first television break was working for MTV as a VJ and as a co-host in "Remote Control" in 1987, before moving on to film. After appearing in "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" and assuming the leading lady role of "Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time" in the early 90s, she then starred in over a dozen straight-to-video sexploitation movies, most notably "Sex and the Other Man", "Vivid", and "Spider's Web".
She also appeared in the television series "Swamp Thing" as Abigail from 1991-1993. Her mainstream breakthrough role came in 1997 as Maggie Beckett on the series "Sliders", a role she played till the series' end in 2000. She also had roles in "Anaconda", "Berserker" and "Eight Legged Freaks", and appeared in Westwood Studios' PC game "Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2" and its subsequent expansion pack, "Yuri's Revenge" as Agent Tanya Adams. She then branched into music signing a record label with legendary producer Rick Rubin. Her album was titled "Shiny" and was released in 1999. In addition to singing, she also plays the flute and guitar. In 2005, she joined the cast of the soap opera "General Hospital" as FBI Agent Reese Marshall. Her character eventually died on teh show within the year. And in 2006, she announced that she was suing the show, claiming that she was fired because of her pregnancy. The case was dismissed in December of that year. Wührer married film producer James Scura in 2003. The couple have two children. In the past she had dated Dean Davidson and Henry Rollins.
