Katey Sagal

Sagal began her career in the 70s music scene doing back-up vocals for the likes of Bob Dylan, Gene Simmons, Bette Midler and Tanya Tucker. During this time she was also a member of the rock group 'The Group With No Name'. Acting-wise, she was quite prolific appearing in several television films including a small role as a receptionist in the Columbo film "Candidate for Crime" (directed by her father Boris Sagal).
But it was in the 80s that she truly blossomed with roles in "Mary" and more prominently, acting alongside Al Bundy as Peg Bundy in the successful long-running series "Married With Children". After the end of the show, she followed with several more television film roles, but showed more interesting talent as voice-actress. Thus, she was a featured voice on the children's cartoon "Recess", and in 1999, Simpsons creator Matt Groening cast her as 'Turanga Leela' in the science-fiction cartoon comedy "Futurama". The show developed a strong cult following, but was unfortunately canceled after four seasons. Its revival however, was announced in 2006, and Sagal has stated she plans to return as Leela in the four DVD movies which will later be rebroadcast as 16 episodes on Comedy Central in 2008. In addition to that, she returned to sitcom with another family hit, "8 simples Rules for dating my teenage daughter" starring alongside the late John Ritter. The show was eventually canceled in 2005, after its third season. Since then she has made guest-appearances on "Lost", "The Ghost Whisperer", "Boston Legal" and "The Winner". In addition to all that, she released two solo albums, entitled "Well..." and "Room". Sagal has been married three times, to Freddie Beckmeier, Jack White with whom she has two children, and is currently married to Kurt Sutter (a writer, producer, and actor for "The Shield"), with whom she has a daughter.
