Macy Gray Macy Gray's story of rise to fame has as many quirks as her music does. Initially a songwriter with a dislike of her own vioce, she entered the music foray by writing songs for an unnamed artist scheduled to appear for a demo recording session. When said artist didn't appear, Gray recorded the songs herself and submitted the tape.It wasn't long after that word of mouth spread of a much-talented new artist in the Jazz circuits, and Gray was on her way to recording one of four critically acclaimed platinum hit albums with "On How Life is" headlined by the much praised song "I Try". Her other albums "The Id", "The Trouble with being yself" and "Big" have garnered similar praise featuring the songs "When I see you" and "What I gotta do". She has also successfully branched in acting appeaing in minor roles in such films as "Training Day" and "Idlewild". Back to Macy Grays Index |
