Nicolas Cage Nicolas Cage is one of Hollywood's biggest name actors today. The talented,
whimsical actor- born Nicolas Coppola, nephew of mega-director Francis Ford Coppola-- initially had to fight off cries of nepotism, and did so by changing his name to Cage, during which time he acted in acclaimed and panned off-beat movies such as: "Vampire's Kiss", "Rumble Fish", "Birdy", "MoonStruck", and "Raising Arizona". It was in the 90s however, that Cage truly exploded by starring in the classics: "Honeymoon in Vegas", "Wild at Heart", and "Leaving Las Vegas" for which he won an Academy Award. Fresh off his oscar in 1995, Cage re-invented himself as an action star by starring in the critically acclaimed hit blockbuster "The Rock" with Sean Connery."Con Air", "Face/Off", "Snake Eyes", and "Gone in 60 seconds" followed, cementing Cage as one of the coolest action stars around Hollywood able to draw in huge crowds. During this time he also starred in such flicks as "City Of Angels" and 2000's "The Family Man". The millenium kicked off with Cage showing no signs of slowing down, but this time he sought out more than just action-inspired projects and opted to show off his versatile skills in somewhat quirky roles and films. This resulted in a number of acclaimed movies inlucing: Ridley Scott's "Matchstick Men", "Lord of War", "The Weather Man","World Trade Center" and "Adaptation" for which he earned a second Oscar nomination for Best Actor. It was around this time that he also starred in the acclaimed and admittedly fun adventure flick "National Treasure" for which he has become most famously known for today. He has also acted as a producer for such films as "Shadow of the Vampire" and "The Life of David Gale", and directed the controversial "Sonny" which opened to mixed reviews. Off-screen, the actor is now married to his third wife, Korean-American Alice Kim, a former sushi restaurant waitress, with whom he has a son, Kal-El(named after Superman- Cage is known to be a big fan of comic books, naming himself after the superhero Luke Cage). The actor had previously been married to Lisa Marie Presley( a marriage which lasted four months), and Patricia Arquette, as well as having been romantically linked with Uma Thurman before that.
