Richard Gere Richard Gere has had a long and fruitful career in Hollywood first breaking out in the late 70s and early 80s with such films as "Days of Heaven" and "An Officer and a Gentleman", and "American Gigolo". While his 80s movies weren't as well received, Gere came back strong in the 90s and forward with "Pretty Woman", "Sommersby", "Primal Fear", "Runaway Bride", "Unfaithful" and "Chicago" for which he won a Golden Globe.
