Rick Moranis

Moranis is often referred to as "Slick Rick" in the movie business, due to his ability to play the 'lovable dork' to sheer perfection as he has demonstrated numerous times in such movies as "Ghostbusters", "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids", "Little Shop of Horrors", "Spaceballs" and "My Blue Heaven". Prior to acting in movies, he was famous for his comical sketch characters on hit Canadian TV show "SCTV".
He pulled out of the movie business around 1996, following his wife's death, and utilizing the time to raise his two children. More recently in 2005, Moranis released an album entitled "The Agoraphobic Cowboy", featuring country songs with lyrics which Moranis says follow in the comic tradition of songwriters/singers such as Roger Miller and Jim Stafford. The album was produced by Tony Scherr, and is distributed through ArtistShare, as well as Moranis' official Web site. In December of that year, "The Agoraphobic Cowboy" was announced as a nominee for the 2006 Grammy for Best Comedy Album.
